There are a number of ways teens can get involved with Steppenwolf Education:

  • Young Adult Council

Steppenwolf’s Young Adult Council is an integral part of the lifeblood of the theatre. Each year, a Council made up of 30 high school students from all over the Chicagoland area come together weekly to learn the inner-workings of how a professional arts organization operates. Council members annually attend over 30 plays throughout Chicago, participate in workshops with leading theater professionals, and collaborate as an ensemble to curate teen nights at Steppenwolf.

  • Step In

A free series that offers teens the chance to participate in hands-on theatre workshops led by some of the hottest theater artists we know. Workshops take place at Steppenwolf and community partner sites throughout the city.

  • The Scene

Curated by Steppenwolf’s own Young Adult Council, this is an exclusive opportunity for teens to score a cheap ticket to a Steppenwolf production, meet the artists involved with the play, and connect with like-minded teens.

  • Teen Arts Pass

Steppenwolf is a proud arts partner of the Teen Arts Pass (TAP) initiative, which allows teens to experience live arts performances all around Chicago for only $5. With TAP, all Steppenwolf performances are available to young people ages 13 – 19 for $5. Teens can register for free at teenartspass.org. TAP is a program of Urban Gateways, which engages young people in arts experiences to inspire creativity and impact social change.
